Come sing with us and master the art of singing a capella four-part barbershop harmony!
A uniquely American form of music, barbershop features close unaccompanied harmonies
and ringing chords.
Historically popularized by male groups, barbershop harmony's four voice parts are still called by their
traditional names - tenor, lead, baritone and bass, with the tenor, baritone and bass voices harmonizing
to the lead melody. Post Road Chorus members are exciting, vivacious and enthusiastic women of all
ages from varied backgrounds. The chorus offers members a chance to learn, sing and perform a large
repertoire of standards, show tunes, ballads and contemporary music along with easy choreography in a
friendly, relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere.
We are looking for female vocalists! Prior experience with a cappella singing and the ability to
read music is not required for membership, but good vocal skills are important. Most of our members
do not read music; learning tapes of each song and part are provided.
Auditions are held once a prospective member has learned an audition piece (provided by the chorus) to her
satisfaction. If you are interested in joining us, would like to attend a rehearsal, or would simply
like more information, please contact our membership chair, Carol Beeso at 508 852 1327.
